Overview
A department of Kyiv National Economic University, one of the best-known Ukrainian Universities, our Centre has been training people in languages for 25 years. More than 300 students of different occupations, age, social position meet in the equipped up-to-date classrooms every day. With the flexible schedule, our students are happy to acquire knowledge, necessary for their educational or professional activity. Working individually or in groups the students experience the advantage of tested by time methods. The language courses aim at quick development of communicative competence in foreign language. With the Centre's resources available any time, our learners can make use of visual educational materials, computer teaching programs for people of different interests and levels. The language competence test is carried out according to the European Union's requirements.

Aims and Tasks of the Centre
 The Center deals with teaching foreign languages in multicultural and multilingual European community in the framework of universal linguistic policy of the European Council.
We seek:
- to intensify language acquisition to provide more effective international communication
- to prepare Ukrainian and foreign students for the cross-cultural dialog, considering the identity and cultural diversity
The aims are achieved through:
- communicative competence development
- development of the cross-cultural competence, i.e. the ability to understand cultural differences and to cope with difficulties caused by them by suggesting the proper behavioural and language patterns.
- shaping unbiased attitudes and actions free from the common prejudices related to the target language speakers and their country.
- Promotion of the most effective European language teaching methods suggested by the EU, with taken into consideration mentality, culture and traditions of the target language country.
- Research work
- Creation of course books designed for unified European Levels
- Holding the work shops and seminars trainings for school and university teachers.

Our Centre Offers:
 The Center provides special programs of various intensity for advanced learners of English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Arabic, Turkish, Ukrainian and Russian (as foreign languages).
Specific methods of teaching help an individual learner and the whole group feel more comfortable and open to communication and studying.
For schoolchildren: the intensity of success. The classes involve communication and grammar practice, phonetic, reading and listening activity, with books and newspapers used.
For university entrance: courses of intensive learning of English, German, French, Ukrainian and Russian.
Using intensive teaching methods, modern textbooks and recordings, the experienced instructors will create a friendly setting to provide training in pairs and small groups. We guarantee an individual approach to personal educational needs of our students.

Intercultural Communication Club
 We are very pleased to announce opening of the Intercultural Communication Club (ICC) in the Educational Research Center of Intensive Teaching of Foreign Languages "Intensive" of Kyiv National Economic University.
Creation of the ICC has been determined by the barest necessity of the considerable number of students of Kyiv National Economic University with the high level of the English language acquisition to use the target language as means of communication and of getting new information. The idea of its creation has been entirely backed by the authorities of the university who are greatly concerned about the foreign languages competence of the university students.
We seek :
- to provide students with the opportunity to apply the received language knowledge spontaneously in communication with native-speakers;
- to raise the intellectual level of the students
Our tasks are :
- experience and information exchange in foreign languages
- extra class activities
- close personal contacts with target-language countries
- debating with instructors, native-speakers and students

Foreign languages and future
 With the universal tendency to study foreign languages, they are getting more popular every day. That is why the world is becoming more open and close.
Nowadays language learning is not just memorizing the words, it is intercultural communication. Sharing experience, communication and peoples' mutual understanding are the priorities for the future.
We hope that work style and efficient communicative teaching method applied in our Centre is a key to gaining international acknowledgement.
